We are looking for candidates for the position of Support Director at a Large International NGO

Essential Requirements:

-- About 10 years experience -- with five years in a senior management role
-- Major experience in one of the following fields: Procurement OR Administration OR IT

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To provide leadership to Support Services department to ensure a high standard of service is provided to organization to assist in achieving ministry objectives in a cost effective manner.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Partnership:

·    Provide input and direction to national office strategy in view of long term effectiveness, acceptance and quality of organization programs.
·    Act as officer in charge (OIC) on behalf of National Director as and when needed.
·    Collaborate with senior leadership team in the leadership and management of overall support functions of the organization
·    Advise National Director and Senior Management team of broader strategic, operational and cultural issues.
·    Provide overall leadership to National Office support services department (Administration, IT, and Procurement) ensuring that staff, systems and processes are running efficiently and at high levels of excellence.
·    Facilitate integration and cross-functional cooperation within Support services group and also with other Departments especially the Program Implementation Unit/Operations, Program Development and Quality Enhancement Unit (QEU).
·    Encourage a positive and open style of leadership that enhances teamwork and job performance.
·        Serve as Change Agent by proposing innovative initiative changes (improved policies and procedures), process changes (methods and ways work gets done) and cultural changes (necessary world view changes and paradigm shifts needed for the organization to adjust and grow with changing workforce and cultural conditions).
·    Practice servant leadership and be a role model for the staff team, peers and others

Administration & Government Liaison:
·    In cooperation with the Administration Manager, develop, review and update admin policies and procedures.
·    Ensure that all administrative procedures and implementation are within organization standard.
·    Work with Administration Manager to build strong relationships with various government departments, including Economic Affairs Division, Federal Board of revenue, National Disaster Management Authority, Ministries, Law enforcement agencies and others.

Information Technology:
·    In cooperation with the IT personnel, review and maintain updated IT policies and procedures.
·    Ensure that all IT equipment, software and hardware are within organization standard.

Procurement:
·    In cooperation with the Supply Chain Manager, develop, review and update SC policies and procedures outlined in the procurement Manual.
·    Ensure that all SC procedures and implementation are within organization standard

Capacity Building:
·    Collaborate with senior leadership team in developing and implementing a responsive capacity building and succession plan.
·    Provide adequate coaching and support in the personal and professional development of direct reports.

HEA and Emergency Responses:
·    Provide guidelines to SMT on HEA standards; work with ND in disaster situations to ensure HEA standards are available and are followed in national office decision making.
·    Respond to disaster situations as needed, including coordination with GRRT, regional HEA and implementation of humanitarian response in collaboration with Response Manager.

Spiritual Leadership:
·    Exhibit spiritual maturity, integrity and a dynamic personal sense of life calling.
·    Attend and participate in spiritual nurture meetings/devotions as scheduled

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

·    Master’s degree in social sciences or a related discipline with a minimum of five years’ relevant management experience
·    10 years of experience with at least 5 years in the capacity of senior management position in one of the disciplines
·    Sound technical expertise in IT, administration and procurement.
·    Minimum 5 years of work experience in one specific field (IT/Administration/Procurement)
·    Strong interpersonal and communications skills with a proven ability to work with a wide range of managers and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
·    Have worked with INGOs, Donor or multi-lateral organizations
·    Proven capacity to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting and build effective relationships with local staff.
·    A creative person with the ability to conceive and introduce changes.
·    Approach organizational issues with a vision and strategic insight.
·    Good understanding of Human Rights, different approaches of development. Good understanding of Gender and Child rights.
·    Have worked with the faith based organizations
·    Understands and values diversity and maximizes diversity to achieve organizational goals
·    Have understanding of Matrix structure and have working in it. Able to identify conflicts and manage them before they escalate
