GROUP PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER
Purpose of Position:
Group Product Marketing Manager is responsible for organizing, managing, controlling, budgeting, coordinating & executing Company's Product-Marketing Function, covering the areas of Strategic Product-Market/Brand Management;Market segmentation & Research;Market Competition, analysis; Product Planning, Positioning,Pricing,Product Life cycle management, Advertising, Promotion and other Customer communications, while achieving profit and volume goals.
Role within Marketing Function:
GPMM's role is distinguished by an outbound, Product-Market orientation. The Strategic role of GPMM encompasses: what (product line)will be offered; to whom(target customers and market segments); how(the distribution channel); at what value(pricing)and,the ways and means(promotional methods)required.
Principal Functions:
The GPMM acts as the Key Product/Brand resource person across the company. Stands behind all strategies, programs and recommendations affecting the Product Market and Brand decisions.
Assumes responsibility for initiating,performing,and leading all Product-Market/Brand related strategies & activities, while coordinating within and outside the organization, monitoring effective and efficient execution of plans, and, making necessary adjustments, as-and-when necessary.
Manages the Product life cycles; planning, introduction, rise, decline and resurrection.
Identifies and manages market segments for each Brand and Product/ category.
Determines the total market potential as well as the existing market size for each segment/product/category and the respective market shares for company products.
Devises and executes strategies and tactics to increase market share___both in short as well as medium term.
Develops and controls Budget for Product Market Brand Management activities, in-line with overall profit and volume goals.
Monitors and reports effectiveness of promotional and advertising spent in terms of achievement of their immediate objectives and with references to improving consumer awareness, and, increasing, brand equity and improving visibility.
