SAP Basis Administrator

SAP Basis Administrator IN FMCG COMPANY RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA

Primary Objectives:
The position will assist with planning and implementing R/3 upgrades, kernel patches, OSS Notes, LCP releases, and Hot Packages. It is also responsible for technical recommendations, system tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting problems with the software and hardware. Daily duties include performance checks, backups, transports, and monthly reporting. In addition, this position will assist in supporting the SAP infrastructure tools such as automated job schedulers, report management, and system monitors.

KEY SKILLS
- Enterprise Portal 7.0, Net weaver Admin (ABAP/JAVA)
- Portal Integration with BI, ECC6
- Knowledge of Solaris OS Solution Manager and Oracle 10g

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform SAP Basis Administrator duties such as applying upgrades, patches, system tuning, performance monitoring, database management and troubleshooting. This also includes daily responsibilities such as transports, backups, and problem reporting.
- Recommend technical enhancements to SAP hardware and software.
- Assist with developing standards, procedures, and audit controls for the SAP environment.
- Automate, where possible, daily tasks and mundane procedures.
- Work with Level 1 (SAP Functional Team) personnel on SAP training, monitoring, and problem resolution.
- Assist with supporting SAP infrastructure management software such as report management, job scheduling, problem and change management, and performance monitoring.
- Provide on-call support on a rotational basis and as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications and Experience:
Must Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and progressive experience or formal training in SAP Basis Administration or related SAP experience.
- Two to five years’ experience managing and supporting automation software in an IT Operations environment.
- One to three years’ in a project leadership role.
- Proven experience with UNIX operating systems and ORACLE databases.
- Ability to assume on-call responsibilities on a 24 x 7 basis.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrable verbal and written communications to maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel.

Preferred Requirements:
- SAP certification.
- Detailed knowledge of Compaq Alpha hardware and their TRU64 operating system, as well as advanced TRU64 knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, and other network topology.

Salary and Benefits:
